On November 15, The Bistro in Hayward, California held their 3rd Annual West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Festival. On tap were over 60 Barrel Aged Beers, a few in bottles.
Out back at the festival, the tent was set up and the shade was great because it was an unseasonably hot day with temperatures as high as 90! It was hard to believe it was the Ides of November.
The beer chef Bruce Paton, Arne Johnson, from Marin Brewing and Craig Cauwels, from Schooner’s.
This year, Vic built a tap system out PVC pipe, similar to what they use at GABF, but considerably longer.
And served beer from filled pitcher, allowing more beer to be served in a smaller space.
I love that “Oh my God” face from the first sip of Russian River’s Beatification.
The new set-up worked quite well, making it quicker and easier to get a beer.

Out front, Jeremy Cowan, owner of He’Brew, Judy Ashworth, Dave Heist, and Zak, also from He’Brew.
