After a memorable beer dinner the previous night, we spent a terrific day in the sun at an idyllic location tasting some excellent homebrewed beer at the Northern California Homebrewers Festival.

The festival was set up in a circular field at the Lake Francis Resort in Dobbins, California, which is in northern California about an hour north of Sacramento.

With various homebrew clubs from around the area each manning a booth and pouring beers made by club members.

Another view of the club booths.

The Brookston Bulletin brood, my family sporting the new shirts I recently had made up just for the fun of it.

Vinnie Cilurzo, from Russian River Brewing, gave a talk on brewing sour beers and using wood to age beer.

I just liked the expression on Vinnie’s face in this photo, plus the fingers held in that “just a little bit” pose.
