Just before the start of Slow Food Nation’s inaugural convention in San Francisco, on Thursday August 29, the Beer Chef Bruce Paton put on a beer dinner with the beers of Stone Brewing. Co-founder Greg Koch was on hand to talk about his beers and enjoy the evening. As usual, a great time was had by all.

Greg Koch with Bruce Paton.

Our first course of Jumbo Day Boat Scallop with Dungeness Crab, California Osetra Caviar and Capay Farms Yellow Doll Watermelon Gazpacho, which was paired with the recently released Stone Epic Ale 08.08.08.

The main course, Tenderloin of Berkshire Pork with Bellwether Farms Pepato Cheese Ravioli and Ancho Chile Jus, paired with Stone Ruination IPA.

And our dessert of Scharffen Berger Chocolate Pudding Cake with Crème Anglaise and Compote of Honey Crisp Farms Mariposa Plums, which was wonderful with the incredible Stone Twelfth Anniversary Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout.
Greg Koch and Bruce Paton, ending the evening as they began it, toasting with a yummy beer.
